3 long nights

Our little boy had to go to the hospital for 3 nights last week when he was diagnosed with RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) which is a highly contagious viral infection. I volunteered on the same floor of the Children's Hospital where we stayed and had wondered what illness could be so bad to require the staff suit up in full protective gear, including plastic gowns, masks and gloves before entering the patient's room. Unfortunately, we found ourselves behind one of those doors...

We were admitted on Wednesday evening and were allowed to leave late Saurday. It was so sad to have him turn 5 months old there. Thoughts and prayers were very much appreciated for Grant's recovery. It was comforting to know how many people were thinking about our little boy and sending him well wishes.

There were many tears during his stay... but why share those with you?

This picture seems to be a little more Grant's style... with a big 'ol smile on his face!

His dog Scout was by his side the entire time and provided lots of entertainment for him during his stay.

He settled right back into being at home with his new 'jumperoo' his daddy picked him up while he was in the hospital! He loves to get some 'air' in his new toy!

Not long after we returned from the hospital, we found out the poor guy has a bad ear infection too! He just can't catch a break.
He has been a great patient so far and we are trying hard to keep him a little bubble until he is better!

My sister told us we need to take him to a tropical island to keep him well... not a bad idea!!

Oh Jen, poor Grant! I'm so sorry you guys had to go through that, especially on his 5 month birthday! But I'm so glad you're all home and he is on the mend. Let me know when I can come for a visit!!
