Lake Cumberland

Last weekend we met up with Dustin and Brittany to go out on their new boat and to watch the Poker Run at Lake Cumberland.

For those of you that have never heard of Poker Run, it's a big race with boats like these....

They all race in groups that go anywhere from 70 Mph to 100 Mph+ to collect cards around the lake to make a "poker hand". Some people from our group actually won the overall race and a monster cash prize! A hand with four, two's did the trick this year!

 It's fun to watch and it all ended with party that reminded me a lot of Mardi Gras... it was pretty crazy!

A true Buckeye Fan even shaved a Block O for the big OSU vs. USC game. Unfortunately this didn't bring much luck!

We spent the day on Bob and Ingrid's boat... appropriately named for the occasion!

The country singer that wrote the song about houseboats being a Redneck Yacht club 

must have never seen this one!! 

Scooting around the dock.  This scooter was name "The Black Pearl" after Ingrid's mom accidently sunk it to the bottom of the lake by forgetting to let go of the gas.  Needless to say, I was terrified, but ended up having a blast riding it around!
