Hunting & Gathering

For those that don't know, hunting is one of Darren's favorite things to do. Of course, "gathering" is while he is in the woods I go shopping and find great sales!!

I've included pictures for those city girls that have never been around anyone who hunts....which was me about 6 years ago! When we first started dating, the only wildlife I was exposed to were the squirrels in my backyard. So, when Darren told me about hunting with a bow and arrow, I asked him if he could shoot an apple off my head (you know... like Robinhood!). Little did I know that he probably could...but not an experiment we will ever try!

Here is Darren, practicing his shot in our backyard. Even though he is using "practice" arrows, everytime he does this we need to make sure the neighbors are long gone! Not sure how our HOA would deal with this!

We were in Kentucky last weekend visiting with family and Darren was able to get a full week in to hunt. Unfortunately, Darren had our camera the entire time so there is only one picture that would not offend our Vegetarian viewers (or PETA members?!?!). We will be heading back over the holidays and promise to have some pictures from that trip.

While Darren was in the woods, Cheri and I went to a craft fair and hung out at their house.

I was also able to visit with my college roomie, Shelly, and meet her little daughter, Mae. She is absolutely adorable!! I'm so excited that Shelly, Rick, & Mae live in Louisville now!!
